In either paper form or online, Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice.
Each week concentrates on a different times table, with a recommended consolidation week for rehearsing the tables that have recently been practised every third week or so.
This format has very successfully boosted times tables recall speed for hundreds of thousands of pupils over the last 8 years in over 16,000 schools - both primary and secondary - worldwide.
At King's Academy College Park we introduce TT Rockstars in the Spring Term of Year 2, after the children have been introduced to the conceptual understanding behind multiplication and division.
There are lots of games that the children can play, however we recommend using Garage Mode as this supports progress through the times tables at a pace appropriate to the children.
In Year 4, we use Times Tables Rockstars to support children in passing the Multiplication Tables Check in June by playing using Soundcheck Mode.
If children complete their tables up to 12 x 12, they should then focus on developing their speed and rock status in Studio Mode.
There are also opportunities to play with children from other school using Festival and Arena, and regular in-school competitions set by the teachers.
